A Breath of Inspiration!

For quite some time I have been admiring the art of Louise Nelson
Now my Christmas gift did not arrive until the end of January ( a selection of Stampington magazines) By the look of the box it had a l.o.n.g journey.
My practice is to flip through my mags and then go back and read in detail. This was not the case this time when I spied the article about Louise in Somerset Memories Autumn 2011. I was in awe!

Fast forward..... Brisbane Papercrafts Festival.... Louise was offering a class. Just how fast can a girl get her credit card out? I am so glad I did and it was lightning fast I can tell you!

Begun in Louise's class
Louise was a breath of fresh air. Down to earth, honest and not a tad of pretension. More than anything, her sense of freedom is what I admired and have hopefully brought home to my studio.

The following piece is my offering to the Freestyle of Louise but I hope it has translated towards my style too.

The green chips are shards of glass and this layout decribes just how I was feeling as I created it.
Fibres added to wire with complex paper thrown in is my third play. All the photos are self portraits.
So thanks Louise for the inspiration. Left turn,  right turn or 360?
I'l take the spinning right round , thanks!

My advice?
If you can, take a class now and then.
What you learn is valuable.
How you feel and what you take from your experience is priceless.
Julie

  4. Ohhhh fabulous!! Your pages are sheer works of art! I just love all the elements included and the details - love the smudge of paints, the textures, the rich colors - you shined in this class and the self portraits are divine! (you have some dazzling blue eyes!)

Also, thank you so much for the kind words re: Buster. I was so misty eyed thinking of your post and how I have been where you are, and know that you have my thoughts, warmest hugs and many many prayers for your fur babies, too. They are really like children and it's so hard to see them sick or in pain, but I know that your puppies will feel the love tenfold in your house! x0x0
