Pretty in Pink

What a few days we have had! WOW! A destructive and powerful weather system stretching over 3000 kms has created havoc along the east coast of Australia. This will be an Australia Day weekend to remember.
Slowly the danger is passing. We have woken to blueish skies and quiet.
The next phase for everyone is repair and recovery and that will take time, camaraderie and pulling together.

As I write, the chainsaw is being wielded by Super Star cutting the tree limbs that are strewn about into manageable pieces and the helicopters are buzzing about overheard rescuing and helping in the mountains not far away. I don't have clothes drying on the clotheslines but instead there is a line of birds, wings lifted, fluffing, preening and quietly gossiping among themselves.

The set of cards are just a little unusual today. They are made with TTC Handmades and were really made as distractions. They helped take my mind of the shrieking, pounding and crashing  as we rode out Mother Nature's delivery over weekend.

Pink is a colour I seldom use but it seemed right this time. A quick set of cards destined for the Leukaemia Foundation. A bit of pretty for sharing.

Keeping alive hopes and dreams right now will be very difficult for so many. Heartbreak and dreadful loss is tugging at our hearts. However it is extraordinary how people pull together in times of disaster. Resilience and mateship play such an important part in everyones lives all over our beautiful Earth.

I'm off to see if Super Star needs my hands. At the very least, a few minutes and a quiet coffee I know will help.

You are such a good crafter, as well as a good wife. What would Super Star do without you. For that matter what would you do without him. Have a nice coffee break you two.

So glad to hear you have made it through that weather system Julie. Thinking of everyone out there impacted by mother nature and wishing you a calmer summer from here on in.
Your treasure cards are a joy and I have no doubt will be very well received by the charity and the eventual recipients. What a star you are too. Hugs, Jenny x

Hi Julie, what a dreadful time of it you have all had there, with the fires and then the wind and rain. I truly hope that it has all settled now and that you can all get back to some kind or normality. Well done for making such beautiful cards in the face of adversity, they are all lovely. Take care! Hugs, Anne x
